Verbally insane

If the plural of man is always called men,
Why shouldn’t the plural of pan be called pen?
If I speak of my foot and show you my feet,
And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?
If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
Why shouldn’t the plural of booth be called beeth?

  1. Every language has its ups and downs. English has an easy-to-learn grammar, but is negatively affected by the great number of sources for the words of the language. The Germany vocabulary is far easier to get a grip on, but the grammar can be a nightmare.

Spanish pronunciation and the vocabulary might be easy but once you start with the irregular verbs and especially the subjuntivo… Speaking a little bit of English might be easy; mastering it is another story.
