Nice article in Die Zeit about the brain and how it handles new information and transfers it into the permanent repository.
“We are able to keep only a limited amount of information in the short-term memory, about four or five different memories at ones. To save an information permanently, we need to repeat it several times and translated it thus into long-term memory.”
Alternatively, one can also use pen and paper. Once the information it ‘fixed’ on paper, it can be deleted from the short-term
folder memory while keeping precious space in the long-term one. Or was that not the point?
